80%: Moving DC Ahead
Councilmember Nadeau was a clear and outspoken supporter of paid family and medical leave and fair scheduling. As chair of the Human Services Committee, she made many improvements in the initial homeless services legislation proposed by the Mayor, though she ultimately supported provisions that limit access to shelter and pushed the package of legislation forward despite concerns from homelessness advocates.
Councilmember Nadeau’s votes that held DC back:
- Opposed guaranteed access to in-suite bathroom for shelter residents
- Supported restricting shelter access for people experiencing homelessness
- Opposed extended access to shelters for families in need
- Supported a contract renewal for Veritas, which mismanaged United Medical Center
